Lowcountry Land Trust's annual Spring Gathering

Lowcountry Land Trust’s annual Spring Gathering will be held on Saturday, April 18, at Hobonny Plantation in the ACE Basin. Situated on 1,300 wildlife-filled acres, guests will enjoy a family-friendly event featuring the property’s historic rice fields, 18th-century structures, and the Combahee River. Tickets are all-inclusive—$125 for adults and $30 for children ages 2-12.

Guests will enjoy a southern-style lunch with ingredients grown and sourced by Peculiar Pig Farm, local beer and spirits, and bluegrass music. Travis Folk, Trustee, land manager, and cartographer, will lead a talk on rice culture, sharing his expertise and findings about the extensive rice production on the property. Haddrell’s will also be on site to offer free fly-casting demonstrations and instruction utilizing the property’s historic canals and pond. With dedicated children's activities, a silent auction featuring local products and experiences, and self-guided tours highlighting the landscape, we are excited for you to bring the whole family to this homegrown event.

Stewardship & GIS Manager

Congaree Land Trust is seeking a highly skilled and personable Stewardship & GIS Manager (SGM) who will work within our Conservation Program and be responsible for multiple aspects of conservation easement stewardship and geospatial data management. The SGM will coordinate annual monitoring of more than 220 easement and fee-simple properties and assist in additional stewardship activities including, but not limited to, recordkeeping, landowner correspondence, and management of easement compliance issues. Utilizing Esri products and other mapping software, the SGM will also develop, implement and manage geospatial data related to existing and prospective easements, as well as the production of maps and reports for the organization. This position plays a critical role in the long-term integrity of Congaree Land Trust and its permanent conservation easements, so the SGM will uphold national standards and practices for easement stewardship.
